As caregivers it is often challenging to carve out time for our
selves. Through weekly small group meditations you will have an
opportunity to shift your focus from others to yourself.
Research has shown that during meditation there is a shift in
brain activity, this mental shift results in a decrease of the
negative effects of stress, mild depression and anxiety.
Additional benefits of regular meditation have been shown to relieve
headaches, migraines, fatigue, insomnia and chronic pain. Individuals
may also experience feelings of increased energy and confidence.
So the potential benefits are many and to put it simply the experience
is typically expressed as being enjoyable and relaxing, the rest
is the work of your body’s ability to heal itself!
Through the use of breathing techniques and guidance we will
focus our minds to achieve a deep sense of relaxation. By removing
the ‘chatter’ of our everyday lives we will create
a calm and peace within as our bodies and our spirits.
As caregivers our common state of awareness is focused on someone
other than ourselves and for many of us it has become a pattern
that is difficult to break; always giving we put off receiving.
It is in the receiving that our body, mind, and spirits are balanced,
and peace and calm are realized and felt throughout our whole
being.
Through a series of weekly, guided meditations we will open our
hearts to love and forgiveness of ourselves and of others. We
will clear energy blockages and let go of thoughts and feelings
that are holding us back, and allow a sense of well-being within.
